We were thrilled when long-time client, civil rights firm Haddad & Sherwin, came to us with the idea to launch a new social justice website, Walls of Justice. It was an honor to have the opportunity to help pay tribute and bring awareness to this important cause.
After George Floyd’s gruesome murder by Minneapolis police officers in May 2020, uprisings in Oakland resulted in extensive damage to local office buildings and businesses. All over Oakland, windows and doors were then covered with wooden boards. Especially during the pandemic, it looked as though the entire city were deserted. Then street artists began painting beautiful murals on these boards, demanding justice for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and the many other victims of police violence. These artists’ eloquent and powerful demands for reform inspired Julia Sherwin to launch Walls of Justice, an online community and forum to showcase this important art.
Please visit Walls of Justice and send them photos of inspiring Walls of Justice near you, to add to this community.
